Personality:
Kohta Hirano is a rather typical teenage boy. He's a bit on the timid side usually due to the bullying he received in school which was further encouraged by his sadistic homeroom teacher. However, even through all of this he managed to usually keep a level head and focused on his studies and enjoying his private hobbies as an outcast. He's not opposed to helping when approached and can be rather helpful and laid back when spoken to. After the event and the rise of 'them' (The zombies), Hirano became a great asset to those that were around him due to his amazing skill with weapons. A 'closet' gun otaku, Hirano quickly took the situation at hand and adapted quickly, using different weapons and even making some improvised ones to help the group. Now that it was a more 'free survival' world, Hirano showed a bit of losing those years of restraints from all the bullying being rather ruthless when it came to taking down the zombies. Although towards his group, he was still the kind and goofy joyful guy that had learned to be more open and confident around those who had accepted him.
Generally distant when not approached, Kohta tries to not draw attention from others to avoid bullying or confrontation. Even after he went to the military training camp in the USA, he still managed to keep a level and cool head even while being teased and such. At least while he was still at school and before the appearance of 'them' (The zombies). Towards most adults, he was still respectful and well mannered as was usually taught in his family and outside of school he was still fairly timid and would either go home to do homework/relax and play games. Or he would visit gun shops, manga or other hobby stores as well.
After the event occurred and Hirano joined up with a group of classmates, he slowly began to show that confidence he only showed in private. As they all banded together in order to survive and they began to accept Hirano not only as a good friend and person, but also as a great asset to the group, Hirano began to get attached to people he once might have resented or avoid, he specially grew incredibly fond of Takagi Saya, mainly romantically (Even if it was sorta one sided!) and of Alice Maresato, a little girl they rescued during their escape from the city who had recently lost her father to other humans who refused shelter for them both.
Hirano can be extremely loyal and self-sacrificing, especially for those he grows close to, often putting himself in danger in order to help them escape. Even through all of this crazy survival and chaotic lifestyle, he still retains all of his teenage quirks. He loves oogling the ladies and the fact that their group has quite the... curvacious ladies doesn't stop him and the other teen male in the group from having plenty to look at! He still loves games and reading manga whenever the group has time to rest and his passion for weapons only grew more in the face of this adversity.
All those years of bullying and harassment didn't leave the usually cool teen unscathed. Although, while his discipline training and usually dejected demeanor kept him from lashing out in school and towards people before the incident, the fact that these things were now 'the enemy' and that he didn't need to hold back produced a chance for Kohta to let go of all those years of anger and frustration towards his bullies.
When it came to eliminating 'them', Kohta sometimes showed no remorse, at times even reveling in the fact that he was taking 'them' down with relative ease due to his skilled training. Many times he found himself simply letting lose and taking out as many of 'them' as possible, sometimes without really needing to. However, he still managed to keep a cool head enough to focus on his priorities, the safety of his group.
He wasn't very trusting of adults other than those that grew close to him like his instructor, or the school nurse that had joined their group. He particularly hated Shido, one of his homeroom teachers who had instigated more bullying towards him from his peers. Even so, after the event Kohta began to show more determination towards retorting against adults, not viewing them as the honored or knowledgeable people they once thought they were. He disagreed with many of their ways of handling the situation and even got into arguments with some of the adults at the Takagi Estate, however, this also impressed the head of the family and Saya's father because it showed his willpower, and his strengths to the point that he believed that without Kohta, the group wouldn't have gotten far to the point that he left his daughter's fate in the group, and more than anything in Kohta's hands.
Kohta carries a wide assortment of weapons (Mainly guns and rifles) of which his most used are a Modified Nail Gun, a Springfield M1A1 Super Match, and an Armalite AR-10 Special.

That said though, does anyone know much about this place? I would like to learn more since knowing is half the battle and all that. I'd rather know what I'm getting into and while my extensive knowledge of games and manga would come in handy just like it did when the zombies started appearing, I'd rather learn a bit more from someone who knows this place in and out, or at least know more than what I do.
Uh... That might mean a lot of people but still! I can offer weapon training in exchange if you don't already know how to use firearms! Or maybe I can lend you one of my games or manga or something.

Hinoto-Ri didn't seem that much different after a while of living here. Sure, the whole addition of the messed up mechanics you'd see in a video game were kind of messed up but still? Other than that, life was pretty much... well life!
Get a job, or open a business yourself! Practice or train or spar or whatever... At first Kohta had tried to avoid any fights. He didn't feel comfortable yet wielding this new found power and everything that it entailed. That, and the fact that such a big burden was tossed upon him when he first arrived. He really didn't know how to deal with it at first... But in the end, he figured, might as well just keep on living right?
And that's just what he did. He worked, he studied, he read manga and played video games. He tried not to think too much about the guys before the first few weeks had been incredibly painful until he realized there was no way he could know for sure if they were alright.
Every now and then he'd walk aimlessly and think of Saya, Alice and the others. He really wished he could at least know what had happened to them.
At first he had been kind of wary of his Persona, but as time went by, he came to realize that she really wasn't all that bad... Not only was she pretty damn hot, but kind and gentle and sweet... Man that bod-- off track off track!
Speaking of which... you know, there's plenty of hotties in this place and he didn't have the reputation from back home following him here. Maybe he should go out and meet some chicks! Oh man.... if he could go to a pool and there be lots of chicks swimming... Okay, this place can TOTALLY be awesome! Just gotta make the best of it Kohta!
